Commanders Course®

The Commander’s Course® is a fifteen day facilitation extended over a six month period. It is the most advanced and comprehensive facilitation, made exclusively for an executive staff. This facilitation covers all aspects of command, to include the reasoning and mechanics of ensuring processes which maximize an organizations strengths and resources. Moreover, this is where strategic thinking and planning occurs. The outcomes of this facilitation provide the basis for all the other functions. The following learning modules compromise this facilitation:

Behavior

Using the behavioral science of Professional Dynametrics Programs® (PDP®), this module ensures participants measure their natural leadership, communication and back-up behavior. Current stresses and satisfaction levels within the team are identified, along with the perception of each team member (how they are role playing to survive or thrive). Most importantly, participant’s see how their behavior supports the ROI in their current leadership role.

The Role of the Commander

The role of the commander is to successfully balance leadership and management in the pursuit of a goal, under dynamic conditions with limited resources. The purpose of this module is to ensure participants grasp the necessity for long-range thinking, purposeful communication, simple planning, and role clarity in business.

Communication I

Communication is one of the most critical factors in business operations. This module examines the nature of communication and the means of ensuring precision and clarity in thought and words. Participants establish and adopt a uniform language to ensure clarity and precision in their communication throughout the organization.

Communication II

The difficulty of directing team efforts in dynamic environments demands a simple, official means of communication. This module provides a process which ensures directives can be quickly received and understood throughout the entire organization. These directives are simple and clear, and most of all, promote individual initiative to maximize results.

Planning I

This module is planning at the tactical and operational levels. Planning I examines how to quickly create and develop simple plans which ensure individual initiative and cross-functional support. Most importantly, this module provides the fundamentals of planning, forming the basis for all strategy work.

Planning II

This module begins with the art and science of strategic thinking and ends with strategic planning for the client. The deliverables are long and short-term strategies which drive operations, finances, culture, and development, in addition to linking the executive staff with the revenue producing functions and the revenue supporting functions.
